Leeds United winger Hadi Sacko appears to be on his way out of Leeds United after he thanked Leeds fans on Instagram. The Mali international, who made his international debut this season despite getting very few chances at the club level, never seemed to fit into the team this season and a move away from Elland Road has been expected.
Sacko said that this season wasn’t what he expected and that he wasn’t sure what the future held for him after a season in which playing time was hard for him to come by, despite a number of injuries to first team players, necessitating a dip into the U23s to fill positions in the matchday squad.

In fact, Sacko made only 14 league appearances this season for Leeds, despite his loan move from Sporting CP being made permanent at the beginning of last year’s summer transfer window. He seemed to fall out of favour quickly under both Thomas Christiansen and Paul Heckingbottom, and an exit from Leeds has seemed likely this summer, with a number of players expected to move on after a disappointing campaign.
While he appeared in 14 times in the league for Leeds this season, he was only included in the starting lineup once. He was a surprise starter for Leeds in the match against Wolverhampton at home, but even then he was hauled off at half-time for Pablo Hernandez.
In addition to his brief appearances in the Championship, Sacko was involved in the Cup competitions for Leeds. His only goal in the 2017-18 season came against Burnley in the League Cup after coming on as a substitute. He started the match against Port Vale in the League Cup, but Leeds only really came alive after Gjanni Alioski came on for him.
And yes, Sacko was in the starting eleven for Leeds against Newport County in that embarrassing loss in the FA Cup.
