Leeds United travel to Norfolk to take on Norwich City today. This match will go a long ways towards deciding who will finish in 12th place, a match that will certainly go down in the long history of both clubs. Or not.
The match will be streaming live on LUTV for overseas fans of Leeds, and it will NOT be available on TV in the UK. Of course, this means that dodgy streams will likely be available, if you’re into that sort of thing.
The lineups have been announced.

And the Leeds lineup is, well, dumb.
I don’t understand playing Matthew Pennington over Paudie O’Connor. Pennington is a loanee from Everton, and although the club is rumoured to want to make the deal permanent, that’s not actually been done yet. There is no reason to play Pennington in this match. In fact, O’Connor has played great and Liam Cooper probably needs to start on the bench, captain or not.
Speaking of the bench, where is Ryan Edmondson or Sam Dalby? One of those strikers has got to be a better option than Pierre-Michel Lasogga, Caleb Ekuban, or Jay-Roy Grot. I can excuse putting Grot on the bench, as he’s still a young player who needs some time and experience, but putting Pierre-Michel Lasogga on the bench is inexplicable. Lasogga is not going to be playing here next year, and to be honest, he’s probably not going back to Hamburger SV in the Bundesliga either, as it looks like the German club is going to be relegated. So why have him available at all? He looked awful the last time he came on the pitch, so why reward him with a spot on the bench with one of the U23s making the trip?
Paul Heckingbottom has got this all wrong. It doesn’t matter if Leeds win, although this lineup doesn’t inspire any confidence in a result. Play the kids, Hecky, play the kids!
