The win against Barnsley highlighted just how good the players coming up through the youth ranks at the club are right now. As much as this season has been a disappointment, at least the kids that are coming up have been good, right?
Tom Pearce is a name that had been mentioned earlier in the season as one to watch for, and the fullback did a brilliant job to score the opening goal Saturday.

Speaking to the media, Pearce said:
It was unbelievable, just playing for Leeds United is an honour, but to score- I can’t describe it.
There was space to drive into and you see people shoot all the time, so I thought I’d have a go and luckily it has gone in.
The gaffer has given me loads of confidence and the Academy and first team lads have been class with me.
The Academy has some good players, the Under-18s have also won the league, so there is a lot of talent coming through.
At the start of every season the aim is to try and get into the first team, luckily I have been able to stay in and around it for the last two months.
Everyone in the team are great lads, it is like a big family, everyone is friendly and helps each other along.
I want to stay in the team, hopefully I can perform well and hopefully we can end the season with two wins in the final games now
More to come from the kids, and hopefully this progress continues to preseason.
