Besides the play of Bailey Peacock-Farrell, another highlight of an otherwise dismal close to the season has bee the play of Paudie O’Connor.

In regards to O’Connor, Heckingbottom said:

I’ve been pleased. We had him in with us a couple of weeks before he got his chance because we knew we were low on numbers there and just in case. As it turned out it was a good job really because we had to throw him in and he felt more comfortable with the group.

He’s a person who one of his strengths is his character and you never really know how people are going to do until you put them in.

He’s not been fazed which is the important thing.

We’ve profiled O’Connor before, but the most important thing to remember about him is that he was playing in the first team in Limerick as a teenager against grown men in the Republic of Ireland’s League of Ireland Premier Division. If anyone from the U23s would be able to make a seamless transition to the first team, you would expect it to be O’Connor.

Good to see O’Connor make the transition to the first team.

On to the links.
