The first half of the season has almost finished up, and for many of the Leeds’ loanees, the FA Cup is in full swing. In the Dutch league, Jay-Roy Grot and Vurnon Anita have both finally managed to adjust and earn playing time, and have been representing Leeds well so far. Anita really does not have a future on Leeds’ first team (especially if they are promoted), so it is important for him to make an good impression during his season-long loan. Now let’s look at how the players did this week.

Jay-Roy Grot - FW, VVV-Venlo

Grot played poorly in Venlo’s 4-1 loss to Heracles this weekend, and this was mostly thanks to his completing just 50% of his passes, which was by far the worst on the field. VVV’s Thursday match against Feyenoord will be aired on ESPN+, so those who have access should take advantage and check out how Grot plays.

Mallik Wilks - FW, Doncaster Rovers

Wilks made his first start in a week after dealing with an injury, and played the full match, helping Doncaster to a 2-0 win over Charlton in the FA Cup.

Paudie O’Connor - CB, Blackpool FC

Blackpool drew 0-0 with the Solihull Moors on the 30th, and will play the second leg of their FA Cup matchup next week.

Laurens de Bock - LB, K.V. Oostende

Oostende also tied 1-1, and de Bock played the entire match. They also pulled off a win on penalties in the Belgian Cup.

Lewie Coyle - RB, Fleetwood Town

Fleetwood won the first leg of their FA Cup matchup with 2-1, and Coyle played the entire match.

Tyler Denton, LB, Peterborough United

Tyler Denton remained on the bench for Peterborough’s 2-2 draw with Bradford.

Liam Kitching - LB, Harrogate Town AFC

Kitching is out with an injury and missed Harrogate’s two games this past week.

Vurnon Anita - CM, Willem II

Anita passed well again in a 2-0 win over AZ Alkmaar, and he seems to have solidified a spot as one of Willem’s starting defensive midfielders alongside Pol Llonch.

Hadi Sacko - RM, UD Las Palmas

No change for Sacko; he is still not making Las Palmas’ 18-man roster.

Yosuke Ideguchi - CM, Greuther Fürth

Ideguchi is out for the year with a partially torn PCL.

Eunan O’Kane - CM, Luton Town

O’Kane is also out for the year with a broken leg.
