Leeds United have announced a second fixture in the club’s preseason tour of Australia in July 2019.

Leeds will face off against the Western Sydney Wanderers on 20 July 2019 to open the stadium for football.
Western Sydney Wanderers play in the western suburbs of Australia’s biggest city, and have won the A League once, and have also lifted the AFC Champions League trophy in 2014. Current Huddersfield Town midfielder Aaron Mooy was one of the first three players to have signed with the club that was founded in 2012.
Leeds CEO Angus Kinnear said:
We’re really excited to be part of this fixture with Western Sydney Wanderers, which will be a very special occasion at their new home.
The large number of Leeds fans based in Australia has only been reinforced since the announcement of the tour last week and we’re really pleased to be playing in Sydney, giving further opportunities for supporters to see the first team in action.
This match is another fantastic part of our centenary season, we’re expecting a large number of supporters to make the trip to Sydney and we look forward to seeing fans there.

Per the Western Sydney Wanderer’s press release, Western Sydney Wanderers CEO John Tsatsimas said:
Our incredible members and fans have waited a long time to see this stadium come to fruition and we cannot wait to play our first match there against a club with so much history and tradition in Leeds United.
This will be a historic event for the club and the people of Western Sydney and we look forward to working in partnership wth the Stadium to bring this match to life.
Additionally, New South Wales Minister of Sport Stuart Ayres said:
This will be an occasion that every football fan in Western Sydney will want to be part of as the Wanderers line up against one of English football’s most famous clubs. The 30,000-seat Western Sydney Stadium is on track to open in April 2019 and Wanderers versus Leeds United will be a major sporting event in Western Sydney that will showcase the best live event experience in the country.
