Leeds will show their support for the annual Stonewall campaign for Rainbow Laces to show support for the LGBT community.

Per the club’s official website:

Leeds United’s fixture against Bristol City in the Sky Bet Championship on Saturday afternoon will be dedicated to supporting Stonewall’s annual Rainbow Laces campaign.

The initiative is one that encourages everyone involved in sport across the UK, whether it is players, fans, staff, referees or match officials, to show their support for LGBT+ equality and inclusivity. The campaign is specifically aimed at promoting the important message of having respect for LGBT+ people not just within sport, but in society.

To help celebrate the occasion there will be members of Marching Out Together, the club’s official LGBT+ supporter group, who will be joined by their families to hold flags in the centre of the pitch as the players emerge from the tunnel ahead of kick-off.

The club has also organised for rainbow corner flags to be used during the game and defender Liam Cooper will be wearing a rainbow captain’s armband for the match.

Marching Out Together are good people, you should go see them in the FanZone before the game and your own pair of rainbow laces or at least just to drop by and say hi.
