With the international break in progress, several of Leeds United’s loaned-out players had the week off. This week was highlighted by Jay-Roy Grot earning a call-up to the Dutch U21 side, and Mallik Wilks’ potentially serious injury. Now let’s look at how the loanees fared this past weekend.

Jay-Roy Grot - FW, Netherlands U21

Grot became the first Leeds loanee to be called up this season for an international team, and the 20-year-old played the last 27 minutes of a 3-0 loss to Germany. He has been in quite good form for Venlo the last month or two, so it’s good to see him be recognized on the international level like this.

Mallik Wilks - FW, Doncaster Rovers

Wilks went down in the 13th minute in a 2-1 win against AFC Wimbledon. As of this writing, it remains to be seen serious his injury is, but this could be a significant blow to one of Leeds’ brightest young stars. Wilks also had to appear in court on Wednesday based on a domestic assault charge. However, it looks like that issue will not be settled for at least the next few months.

Paudie O’Connor - CB, Blackpool FC

O’Connor did not make the 18-man roster once again.

Lewie Coyle - RB, Fleetwood Town

Coyle once again played all 90 minutes in Fleetwood’s 0-0 draw with Walsall.

Tyler Denton, LB, Peterborough United

Tyler Denton also played a full game this weekend, which ended up as a 1-1 draw with Bradford.

Hadi Sacko - RM, UD Las Palmas

Sacko was not in Las Palmas’ squad yet again.

Alex Machuca - FW, Burgos CAM

Machuca came on in the 75th minute for Burgos, but was unable to impact his side’s 1-0 loss to Unionistas. It would be nice to see Machuca get more playing time as the season progresses.

Adrián Balboa - FW, Terrassa FC

Balboa started for the first time in over a month and helped Terrassa to their second win in their last 3 matches. He was subbed off after 60 minutes.

Oriol Rey - CM, UB Conquense

Rey played another full match for Conquense, and his side grabbed a 2-0 win over Levante.

Oliver Šarkić - FW, Barakaldo CF

Barakaldo beat Real Union 2-1, but Sarkic did not earn any playing time.

Yosuke Ideguchi - CM, Greuther Fürth

Ideguchi is out for the year with a partially torn PCL.

Eunan O’Kane - CM, Luton Town

O’Kane is also out for the year with a broken leg.

The following players were off for the international break:

Paweł Cibicki - FW, Molde FK

Laurens de Bock - LB, K.V. Oostende

Vurnon Anita - CM, Willem II
