Leeds United Loan Round-Up: Week 12

Five of Leeds’ on-loan players were off this week for the international break

To say the least, the Leeds United loanees did not have a good week this week. Only two players made their starting eleven, which is easily the lowest number this season. Four additional players came on as substitutes, but they were largely unable to make any difference in their games. The two who did manage to start (Coyle and Kitching) played well, but overall, it was a disappointing week.

Paudie O’Connor - CB, Blackpool FC

Blackpool’s game against Sunderland was postponed.

Mallik Wilks - FW, Doncaster Rovers

Wilks did not start for the first time this season and came on in the 71st minute as a substitute. He helped the Rovers see out a 3-2 victory against Rochdale.

Eunan O’Kane - CM, Luton Town

O’Kane is out for the season with a leg injury.

Tyler Denton, LB, Peterborough United

There has finally been a Tyler Denton sighting; the 23-year-old was an unused substitute in Peterborough’s 2-0 win over Scunthorpe. Though he did not play, he has not been on the bench for a league match since August, so perhaps this is a sign of improvement.

Lewie Coyle - RB, Fleetwood Town

Fleetwood Town beat Shrewsbury 2-1 today, and Coyle again played for the entire match. He had a nice look on goal, but his shot just curved past the post and went into the stands.

Hadi Sacko - RM, UD Las Palmas

Once again, Hadi Sacko was unable to break into the game-day squad for Las Palmas.

Liam Kitching - LB, Harrogate Town AFC

Harrogate had a disappointing result at home against Dover the past weekend, drawing 2-2 and needing a 90th minute goal to take home a point. Liam Kitching helped create the late goal, firing a wonderful cross into the box that Kevin Langmead was able to head into the net.

Really, the Shrewsbury midfielder gives Kitching too much space here, but he still delivers a great cross that is finished by an extremely impressive header from Langmead.

Alex Machuca - FW, Burgos CAM

Machuca was another unused substitute for Burgos this weekend.

Adrián Balboa - FW, Terrassa FC

Balboa came on in the 75th minute for Terrassa, who were down 1-0 and desperately needed an offensive spark. However, Balboa was unable to make a difference, and his side dropped all three points.

Oriol Rey - CM, UB Conquense

Oriol Rey was subbed on in the 70th minute for Conquense, but was unable to make an impact on the game, and Conquense lost 3-2.

Oliver Šarkić - FW, Barakaldo CF

Šarkić came on late in Barakaldo’s 1-0 victory against Durango.

Off due to the international break:

Yosuke Ideguchi - CM, Greuther Fürth

Laurens de Bock - LB, K.V. Oostende

Jay-Roy Grot - FW, VVV-Venlo

Paweł Cibicki - FW, Molde FK

Vurnon Anita - CM, Willem II
