Leeds United Loan Round-Up: Week 11

Only seven players saw time on the pitch this weekend

This was a pretty poor week for Leeds United’s loaned-out players. Of the 16 players on the loan list, only 7 were able to make an appearance, which is a pretty concerning number. Of these 7 players, only Liam Kitching and Lewie Coyle had above average matches. Let’s hope that they will be able to rest up during the international break and will return in better form.

Yosuke Ideguchi - CM, Greuther Fürth

Ideguchi will be out for a significant period of time with a torn PCL.

Laurens de Bock - LB, K.V. Oostende

De Bock has not made an appearance for Oostende since sustaining an injury three weeks ago, and he spent the Belgium side’s 1-1 draw with Waasland-Beveren on the bench.

Jay-Roy Grot - FW, VVV-Venlo

VVV were dominated by PSV and Mexican star Hirving Lozano this weekend, losing 4-0. Venlo chose to play Grot at striker for the match, and the results did not turn out well, as he was dispossessed once, only had one unblocked shot, and completed just 65% of his passes. Hopefully he will be moved back to left wing when VVV plays Den Haag after the international break on October 20th. Grot has been in good form lately, so a loss against a dominate PSV team (who have been playing well in the Champions League) is not too big of a deal.

Paweł Cibicki - FW, Molde FK

Cibicki continues to start for Molde, but has only scored one goal in 14 appearances across all competitions. Molde beat Boedoe 1-0 and have now earned an impressive 13 points in their last 5 matches.

Paudie O’Connor - CB, Blackpool FC

The Irishman once again remained on the bench for Blackpool’s match. He has not made an appearance since September 4th.

Mallik Wilks - FW, Doncaster Rovers

The Rovers were destroyed 4-0 by Lewie Coyle and Fleetwood Town at home this weekend, and Mallik Wilks did not make a huge impact, being substituted off after 73 minutes. Doncaster did have several good looks on goal, but they were unable to finish and keep the match within reach.

Eunan O’Kane - CM, Luton Town

O’Kane is out for the season with a leg injury.

Tyler Denton, LB, Peterborough United

Peterborough was destroyed by Barnsley, and Denton did not make the 18-man roster yet again.

Lewie Coyle - RB, Fleetwood Town

Lewie Coyle played the full match against Mallik Wilks and the Doncaster Rovers. He continues to play well defensively for Fleetwood but lacks an offensive side to his game.

Hadi Sacko - RM, UD Las Palmas

Once again, Sacko was unable to make the bench for Las Palmas, who tied 0-0 with Alcorcon this past weekend.

Vurnon Anita - CM, Willem II

Willem had a solid 1-1 draw with Feyenoord, but Anita remained on the bench for the entire match.

Liam Kitching - LB, Harrogate Town AFC

Kitching again played 90 minutes for Harrogate Town, who are tied for second place with 32 points through 15 matches in the National League.

Alex Machuca - FW, Burgos CAM

As was stated last week, Machuca seems to have lost his starting spot as Burgos has shifted to a 4-4-2 with two holding midfielders. This week, he remained on the bench for the entirety of Burgos’ 1-0 loss.

Adrián Balboa - FW, Terrassa FC

Adrian Balboa was also on the bench for Terrassa’s 3-1 victory this week.

Oriol Rey - CM, UB Conquense

After being loaned out extremely late, Rey has managed to earn a spot in Conquense’s starting eleven. He has now started the last two games, which his side have lost and tied.

Oliver Šarkić - FW, Barakaldo CF

Oliver Šarkić made his debut for Barakaldo, coming on in the 79th minute. Unfortunately, the young forward was unable to make an impact, and his team lost 1-0.
