Jansson up for PFA Championship Player of the Month for December

Thanks to I’d Radebe Leeds for sharing this little tidbit on Twitter.

Pontus Jansson is up for the PFA Fans’ Championship Player of the Month award for December. Voting closes tomorrow at 8 AM, so be sure to vote here and get the big Swede a well-deserved award.

Leeds had a good run of form during December, and with the defence finally seeming the gel, who better than to get nominated than Jansson? When Jansson doesn’t play, the team often looks soft at the back, but with Jansson controlling the air, and even scoring goals on set pieces, Leeds look like a team that can challenge for a spot in the top six at the end of the season.

Jansson faces competition from five other players: Derby County defender Curties Davies, Bolton Wanderers forward Gary Madine, Preston North End goalkeeper Chris Maxwell, Bristol City forward Jamie Paterson, and Brentford forward Lasse Vibe.

Obviously, Leeds United fans will be biased, but who else on this list can head a brick? That’s what I thought. Even with Leeds United being the biggest, and best, club on this list, Jansson isn’t a shoe-in, so be sure to show him your support.

Don’t delay, vote for Pontus!
