Morning Leeds-in for 7 January: Leeds not looking past Newport

Christiansen doesn’t want to face the same fate as last year’s visit to Sutton United

Thomas Christiansen is taking the match against Newport seriously, despite including a few youth team players.

Christiansen isn’t taking any chances and isn’t looking past this opponent or this match, saying, “We faced them in the other cup and got a very good result but we saw that we had to give our best to take the win and we made it, especially in the second half because in the first we suffered. We want to try not to suffer so much.”

A few changes will be in store for Leeds, but don’t expect a youth team like Garry Monk played in London against Sutton United. Leeds should be able to beat this team, despite the travel, and avoid the kind of fate that Aston Villa and Stoke suffered yesterday.
