This “historic” partnership marks the first time the Whites have ever appointed a shirt sleeve sponsor. The deal comes off the heels of the FA’s decision to give clubs the opportunity to secure sponsorship for one shirt sleeve badge. The deal will see that the Southerns logo will be on the sleeve of every FA cup tie moving forward.
So what is Southerns, you might be asking? The company are award-winning FF&E (Furniture, Fixtures, & Equipment) specialists based out of Leeds. They’re one of the UK’s leading FF&E office and work-space interiors specialists. Everything they do delivers results. As a part of the deal, Southerns will see Platinum Level LED advertising at Elland Road, along with their brand being displayed on the rear of the North Stand overlooking the M621 motorway.
Leeds United Executive Director Paul Bell and Southerns CEO Andy Kendall-Jones each gave a few words on their new partnership.
PB: “We are delighted to have entered this new sleeve badge partnership with Southerns. The FA has made this opportunity available to it’s member Clubs for the first time and we are delighted that the Southerns logo will be displayed on the shirts of the first team players in The Emirates FA Cup games this season. The commercial partners programme at Leeds continues to flourish and it’s great that another fast growing, Leeds based company is involved with the Club.”
AKJ: “We are over the moon to be appointed Official Cup Shirt Sleeve sponsor for Leeds United. We believe, very strongly, in supporting our community, and sport is an intrinsic, and vital, part of the city and its people. And as a life-long Leeds United supporter, I am personally absolutely delighted with this partnership.”
