How much of this bad spell is on THomas Christiansen?
As bad a week as Christiansen has had in this job. Nothing’s gone right. Not his fault today though.

Whenever a football club goes through a poor spell of form, everyone is usually quick to blame the manager and the players. This is starting to feel like the previous bad stretch that Leeds had in September and October, where the club often seemed snake-bit and unable to score and keep the ball out of the net. And while the defence today was pretty much spot on all match, with Ipswich Town only landing the winning goal from an absolute screamer, how much of this can be chalked up to TC?
It wouldn’t be fair to lay all of the blame for the Newport loss at his feet, as the while the players picked didn’t look great together, their was still enough quality in the side to beat a League Two team. And as for the result today, I’m not sure you can blame TC for O’Kane’s headbutt. The team had great chances before O’Kane was sent off, and it looked as if a goal was coming. Liam Cooper and Pablo Hernandez both had chances to draw level late in the match as well, with Cooper’s shot skyrocketing over the net when almost any different touch would have put the ball into the back of the net.
The team is screaming out for a new striker, because as much as I think the world of Kemar Roofe, he’s not consistent enough to be a full-time striker at this level. Everyone thought we had gotten the real deal in Pierre-Michel Lasogga, but if he can’t find the form he had for the first couple weeks he had at the club, then Leeds need to move on.
Anyway, we’ll revisit this topic in about two weeks time. If the window closes and all we get is a left-back, it will be disappointing.
