Leeds United Ladies are home this weekend as they host Yorkshire rivals Barnsley FC Ladies. The Barnsley Ladies are new to the division, having been promoted from the regional league below the FA WPL Northern Division 1.
Barnsley are hoping to build on the draw against Chorley Ladies last week, as they had lost the first two matches and, like Leeds, dropped their Cup match. Barnsley Ladies have one point on the season, but still sit in 10th, two spots out of last place, as both Chester Le Street Town Ladies and Mossley Hill Athletic Ladies are winless on the season. Their three goals so far this season have been scored by three different players, with Nikki Hogg, Demi Pringle, and Amy Woodruff all scoring so far this season.
Leeds are coming off a good showing against Liverpool Marshall Feds Ladies last week. Despite losing the match, they held the high-flying Feds to two goals and scored a good goal in the first half. Leeds are coming into the season on three points and in eighth place, having lost to Bolton Wanderers Ladies as well and the team won it’s first match at Elland Road against Chester Le Street Town earlier in the season. Leeds have four different goal scorers on the season, with Liuli Dyson, Carly Hoyle, Carey Huegett, and Laura Porritt all finding the back of the net.
