Looks like one transfer rumor linking a player with Leeds United is getting closer to happening as reports out of Sweden indicate that a possible Leeds target has missed training in order to meet with an unnamed club.

Malmo FF forward/winger Pawel Cibicki has missed training with the Swedish club in order to “meet a club” according to Fotbollskanalen. When a reporter asked the Malmo sporting director Daniel Andersson if the club was English, Andersson was coy, saying “Feel free to speculate.”
Cibicki has been linked to Leeds before, with reports coming out over the weekend that linked 23 year-old forward with the Whites. Cibicki has played for both the Poland and Sweden youth national sides, having switched a few years back. He’s scored 5 goals in 20 appearances for Malmo this season, and while he’s a prospect worth watching, the last striker brought in from Sweden, Marcus Antonsson, hasn’t worked out the way that everyone would have hoped.
After the sale of Chris Wood to Burnley, giving the club a war chest of £15 million to spend, Leeds have been looking for a replacement striker, and while Cibicki is an exciting prospect, he isn’t going to step in and be a replacement for Wood. With the rumored price tag expected to be around £1.5 million, the signing of Cibicki should been seen as an another investment in the future of the club, not as someone who can step into the starting line-up and bang in 20 goals in the Championship.
Leeds have been linked with a number of other possible strikers in the past week, and expect the news and rumors coming out of Elland Road to reach a fever pitch sometime over the next couple of days as the summer transfer window comes to a close at 11 pm BST on Thursday 31 August.
