Will another striker leave before the window closes?

Chris Wood may not be the last Leeds United striker to leave Elland Road before the transfer window ends. After a report that an anonymous club bid for Souleymane Doukara, BetVictor has placed Preston North End and Rangers as favorites to capture his signature.

According to the Lancashire post, Doukara has been offered to the Lilywhites rather than the Lilywhites making the first move. The Whites’ tone may have changed, with Chris Wood moving on to join Charlie Taylor at the “greener pastures” of Burnley.

I’m always a fan of selling your players to a different league given the chance. You never know if the sale of player X could cost you from being promoted, amongst other examples, and that’s why I am a fan of Douk moving to Rangers. Is it the best choice career-wise? Eehhh, depends. Rangers haven’t had the best of seasons this year. Most notably, the Gers were upset by Luxembourg National League club Progres Niederkorn in Europa league qualification 2-1. The Scottish Premiership hasn’t been kind to them either, as the club has secured only 4 points from their first 3 league games. That being said, Rangers are constantly a threat in the Scottish Premiership and, in a weird way, can offer Doukara Champions League football.

Leeds have had a hectic transfer window, but Rangers have been doing work also. Manager Pedro Caixinha has secured the signings of Cagliari’s Bruno Alves, Norwich City’s Graham Dorrans, and Ryan Jack from Aberdeen amongst others. The Light Blues have also sold Joe Garner and Martyn Waghorn to Ipswich Town.

With Souleymane Doukara it’s a matter of when, not if, he’s sold. I don’t think he’s Thomas Christiansen’s plans, he’s got a year left on his contract, let's go and get some sort of money off of him. After PNE and Rangers, Aberdeen(8/1), Hull(8/1) and Reading(12/1) round out the top 5 teams odds-wise for Douk. We’ll see what happens. MOT
