Amidst all the commotion going on at striker this season for Leeds-Chris Wood's situation, Irwin & Antonsson, Ekuban and Ekuban playing well on his debut- Souleymane Doukara's name has been almost unfairly forgotten. Last season Douk scored 6 goals and got 3 assists, but he'll be forever remembered for scoring a wondergoal against Nottingham Forest. Doukara has yet to make an appearance for Leeds this season. According to Radio Yorkshire's Mark Wilson, a Championship club has bid for Doukara.
Hearing that a championship club is considering a bid for Doukara..... #lufc— Mark Wilson (@MarkWilsonRadio) August 16, 2017
He didn't say which one, and it's started some speculation amongst fans. Gun to my head, I'd say it's Middlesbrough. Boro have constantly popped up when it comes to official Leeds transfer business, so while it may not make sense, it's be the bet to take IMO. As far as selling Douk, I think Leeds let him go. He's valued at just over £1 million, so if the offer is reasonable I don't see why both clubs pull the trigger. While selling your talent to a fellow league team may be risky, I don't think Douk would be that threatening if he ever makes a return to Elland Road. Our friends at the Mighty Whites Podcast also happened to talk about Souleymane Doukara in their newest episode, give the whole thing a listen while you're there. MOT
