Please let the saga be over.

The Yorkshire Evening Post is reporting that Samuel Saiz will officially be signed to a deal at Elland Road to join Leeds United on Monday, July 10th. Leeds is tipped to land the CD Huesca forward over reported interest from La Liga team Eibar, who Leeds will play in a friendly in Austria.

Stop me if you’ve heard this before.

What makes this current rumor a little more creditable is the source. Phil Hay seems to be the most “in the know” reporter when it comes to news about Leeds United, and so if he is tweeting out that Saiz will join the club on Monday, that’s likely going to happen.

Hay has a good record of putting out reports that end up being true, unlike a lot of the red tops who report transfer rumors from “sources” that often seem to be made up or from some dodgy punter at a pub. For example, Hay tweeted out and reported that Vurnon Anita, the former Newcastle midfielder/defender was set to sign for Leeds United on Thursday, only for him to be revealed at the kit unveiling literally hours later. Anita later confirmed that he had been in talks with Leeds to about a deal for weeks, with no leaks or rumors coming out of Elland Road.

There has not been an update on any of the other rumored transfer targets from Hay, including another SD Huesca player, Alexander Gonzalez, who we profiled in an article earlier today. Nor has Hay, as of this writing, given any update on any possible links for central defenders to replace Kyle Bartley, who seems to be priced out of a return to Elland Road from his parent club Swansea City. Any Guiseppe Bellusci is still on the roster, despite his desire to return to Italy after his loan spell with Empoli ended in tears with the Serie A club being relegated.
