It doesn’t take much to get Leeds United fans into an inquisitive mood when it comes to signings but Red6 Sports Management (@red6sportsmgt) haven’t been subtle about one of their clients potentially moving to Elland Road.

Truth is, as of yet no-one knows who the signing is. However, social media clues have given Leeds fans two potential names for the would-be signing.

Option 1

Sonny Bradley - Plymouth

The leading contender as far as people can tell. The 6’5” centre back came through at Hull City but was unable to make the grade in their 1st team, after loan spells with Harrogate Town, IK Frej and Aldershot Town he moved to Portsmouth and then Crawley where he was a regular fixture in the side. Last season at Plymouth he played 44 games in the league, chipping in with 7 goals in the process. He also won Plymouth’s player of the year and received player of the year from local newspaper the Plymouth Herald. He was also named in several ‘team of the season’ sides for League Two and one for the whole EFL.

Leeds would be a huge step-up for Bradley having played in League Two last season, admittedly in a promotion winning team. He is still only 25 years old so should have his best years ahead of him. It’s a signing that I would be happy with.

Option 2

Greg Cunningham - Preston

Cunningham came through at Manchester City and played a few first team games. He saw more of the pitch during loan spells at Leicester City and Nottingham Forest getting into the Republic of Ireland national team in the process. He then moved to Bristol City for 3 years before moving to Preston in 2015.

Personally, I don’t see this one happening. We do need a left-back but I don’t feel that Cunningham would be an improvement on Berardi even if he is a more natural left-back. He has also been made captain of Preston after Tom Clarke’s injury so it would be an odd time for him to leave, and an odd time for Preston to sell him.
