Well it’s been a big week for Leeds United Ladies, if you were at Elland Road today you would have seen the players on the pitch at half time welcomed by a warm round of applause from the crowd. They will also be given the opportunity to play there twice in the forthcoming season.
On Monday the 2017-2018 fixtures were released and by some twist of fate their first game is away to a newly promoted Bolton, as is the men’s team. The league looks really strong this year with all teams looking to improve, but Leeds United Ladies have announced a string of new signings on social media to not only strengthen the first team but also to set up the reserve squad.
We have 2 away friendlies tomorrow. We travel to @FCUnitedWomen and to Fleet Lane who are hosting @GuiseleyVixens Fantastic day of football. pic.twitter.com/Gx9APYX4q0

On Sunday Leeds have 2 games, the majority of first team players will be at Fleet Lane, Rothwell to take on Guiseley Vixens, the team that gained promotion by winning the league that both they and Leeds were in last year. The match will kick off at 14:00. The rest of the players will travel to Manchester to take on FC United of Manchester Women, a very strong team that already has the scalp of some top sides in preseason, which will also kick off at 14.00. Both games will be a massive challenge but I am sure they will put the work in to get the right result and get more match time and fitness in the bank.
Editor’s note: Again, big thanks to the Leeds United Ladies and Chris Routledge for helping us out with the coverage of the Ladies team. If you’re free tomorrow afternoon, head on down to Fleet Lane and support the Ladies team in their friendly against Guiseley or if you’re in the Manchester area, head on over to Broadhurst Park and support the Ladies over there.
