10 days ago, Pep Clotet let it known on Twitter that after three years working under Garry Monk he will move onto a new challenge. And now that his contract at Leeds United has run up, Clotet has already moved on to a new club.
...look for a new stage in my career. I'm grateful to Garry for everything & I wish him all the best, because he truly deserves it. 2/2

After much speculation, Pep Clotet will indeed be the new manager of Oxford United. He will be replacing Michael Appleton, who left The U’s to join Leicester City as an assistant. It won’t be long until Clotet will return to Leeds, as his Oxford side are set to square off with Leeds at Elland Road as the final match of this preseason, thanks to Kemar Roofe’s contract stipulations. Clotet was very well liked at Leeds and was himself rumored to take the reigns at Elland Road for a period of time. The feeling we had for him was mutual from his end, as his goodbye on Twitter definitely tugged on certain peoples heart strings.
I'll be forever grateful to everyone at Leeds for the affection and support they offered me right from day one. 2/2

PC, thank you for your time with Leeds, even if was ultimately only one season. Congrats on your appointment with Oxford United, and I wish you the best of luck as long as you don’t add up a number in our losses column.
Adiós, Pep!
