The Yorkshire Evening Post is reporting that rumored Leeds United target Mateusz Klich is currently undergoing a medical at Elland Road ahead of a switch from FC Twente. The 27 year old midfielder, who had been rumored to be headed to Leeds for a few weeks, appears to be trading the Eredivisie for the Championship.
The fee is understood to be in the range of £1.5 million, which sounds like a bargain considering all of the crazy amounts of money being thrown about for Premier League players these days.
We profiled the player when his name was first connected with a switch to Leeds United, and an attacking midfielder is a great idea, since Pablo Hernandez isn’t getting any younger and the club could use another creative player in the middle of the pitch. He’s got a decent goal scoring record at FC Twente, but a number of his goals last year seemed to come from the spot, so that total might be a tad misleading.

Klich set off a frenzy earlier in the day, as it appeared he posted himself at the airport on Snapchat earlier in the day, with Leeds fans taking to Twitter in a vain attempt to confirm the rumors, but it now appears that the rumors were true.
So will this be a good signing for Leeds? Can Klich take some of the goal-scoring burden off of Chris Wood and chip in a few goals from the midfield? And with his success from the spot, along with Ronaldo Vieira’s penalty shoot-out success at the Toulon Tournament, will this mean that Leeds will be well placed to be able to break Sheffield Wednesday’s hearts at Wembley in a penalty shoot-out in the playoffs? (LOL) Time will tell, but new faces are always an encouraging sign.
