Rumors out of the Netherlands today that FC Twente have rejected an initial offer for Poland international Mateusz Klich from Leeds United.

Back in May, we discussed the rumors that Leeds United were interested in bringing the midfielder to Elland Road. If the reports are true, then it appears that Klich might be playing in the Championship next season for Leeds.

Klich is primarily a creative midfielder, and while Pablo Hernandez has been resigned for another year, an additional option in midfield would be a welcome addition to the club.

This would be the first real “signing” of the Radrizzani era, with the previous deals just completions of loan deals. And while we won’t know for a few months if this deal will work out, it’s a good sign that the club appears to be looking to add good players, not just raid the unattached bargain bin or overpay for “names” in an effort to appease the fans.

And just to get everyone all aboard the hype train, here is a highlight video from a few years ago of him showing off his skills.

So here’s hoping that this deal goes through and the club has someone other than Chris Wood to score goals for Leeds next season. Oh and if the club could sign a central defender too, that’d be great.
