Earlier on I got the chance to catch up with ex Leeds United player Enoch Showunmi. He was kind enough to offer his insight into his time at Leeds and the current set up of the club. He had 15 appearances for the club across 2008 and 2010 but became a fan favourite and was loved by many for his performances. There was even a chant created for Enoch but it isn't one I can write in an article.
When playing for Leeds United, who did you enjoy playing alongside the most?
We had some great players for that division when I joined but the likes of Snodgrass, Howson, Beckford, Becchio, Johnson were all enjoyable to play with!
What was your best experience while at Leeds?
The fans mainly the way they take you as one of their own and never forget you. They deserve to have the team in the Premier League
The 2016/17 season was a success for Leeds. Who do you think will make the biggest impact next season?
I'm sure there'll be comings and goings this season but I'm expecting another exciting season with Leeds pushing for promotion.
There is a lot of rumours going around about who the next Leeds manager will be. Who would you like to see take the position?
I think as long as the structure is in place for the manager to succeed and they bring in someone who has the same ideas within that structure then success will come. A team won't be successful if the ownership and management teams are not on same page.
Which player would you like Leeds United to sign for the upcoming season and what's your reason for choosing this player?
Keeping Chris Wood would be the most important signing of the season. He has the potential to fire Leeds into the Premier League. Jonny Howson coming back would also galvanize the whole club. I played with him and saw first hand what a great player he is!
Out of all the clubs you've played for, which was the most enjoyable club to represent?
I didn't play that often for Leeds but it was a privilege to play at Elland Road! Luton Town & Tranmere for different reasons!
In your opinion, who is the best player to of donned the white shirt?
My dad told me about the likes of Billy Bremner, Eddie Gray and Peter Lorimer (in my dad's words 'those days when football was a real mans game') but I never saw them play. In my time watching football growing up I'd have to say Gary McAllister
What do you think about Victor Orta?
Good appointment? I don't know him that well but know of him he has done a great job with helping Boro get to the Prem and has a vast network in spotting talent. I'm sure that's part of his job in helping with that process time will tell how successful this appointment is but I think things look promising.
What are your views on the new owner Andrea Radrizzani and do you expect him to be a big success at Leeds United?
Well seeing as Andrea is a good friend and he was a guest at my wedding I have nothing but good things to say about him and the vision he will bring to Leeds United. Knowing him and what he wants to do all I can say is good times should be ahead for Leeds United fans.
Finally, what are you up to after the life of been a footballer?
I live in Miami. I'm a director of sports division of Elect Lifestyle(www.electlifestyle.com) which is a Lifestyle management company - a VIP travel agency and concierge. I also have my own company and I'm involved with high end luxury real estate in Florida.
Massive thank you to Enoch for giving up his time for us.
