As Leeds United fans move into another grief stage — most leaving denial and jumping right into bargaining — following the resignation of manager Garry Monk, oddsmakers are doing what they always do … laying odds.
Because, why not? We are willing to bet on just about anything from who will score the first goal in a particular match to which manager will be the first to be fired.
The bookmaking site Ladbrokes has gone ahead and decided to lay odds on who will become the next manager of the Whites.
Now, we don’t condone gambling … unless, of course it is legal where you live then, do whatever you want.
But, it appears former Middlesbrough boss Aitor Karanka is the odds-on favorite to replace Monk at Elland Road. His odds are 11/8 — which is much better odds-wise if you are putting any money on it.
“Monk's departure has caught us all by surprise,” Ladbrokes’ Richard Marsh told Bettingpro.com. “But the odds suggest Aitor Karanka already has one foot in the door at Elland Road.”
Now, while that might not surprise many, the next few might. Both at 7/1 odds are Alan Pardew and Nigel Pearson while former Leicester City boss Claudio Ranieri sits at 9/1 and David Moyes is at 10/1.
Karanka, Ranieri, or someone else? Who'd be your ideal choice and who do you think AR will realistically sign? #LUFC #MOT #LeedsUnited

Also at 10/1 is former Leeds United striker Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink. Hasselbaink was sacked as manager of Queens Park Rangers in November. Even former Manchester United star Ryan Giggs is drawing odds at 25/1.
Take it for what you will because it likely means nothing.
Oh, and in case you were wondering, BetVictor have Monk at 6/4 to be at Crystal Palace next season and 12/1 at Watford.
Nigel Clough is 2/1 to be at Sunderland, according to BetVictor.
BetVictor also has Marco Silva at 4/1 — just behind Karanka — to be at Elland Road.
