Elland Road Reports returns for its 10th episode (woooo) as Seán Ryan is joined by James Mahoney and Mike Stehlik to discuss all goings on around Leeds United and their seemingly dead play-fff hopes (boooo).
Let's put it simply - Leeds must win on Saturday. End of. We all know this. Seán and James believe; they are keeping the faith with the men who have got Leeds in this position in the first place. Mike doesn't think Leeds can beat Norwich - so we're going to ignore him for the moment.
The lads discuss the last two weeks of the season as well, as Leeds went from the utopia of the last gasp equaliser against Newcastle to losing against Wolves and Burton. Where did it all go wrong? Was it a lack of signings in January? Was the system too rigid? Did tiredness set in? Pressure? Or was simply a bottle job? We all had differing opinions.
One thing we could agree on was that promotion is still possible. There is still a chance... and let's think about this for a second - wouldn't it just be the most Leeds United thing ever to look like we've blown the play-offs from a seemingly unassailable position, only to pull it back at the end and f**k Sheffield Wednesday or Fulham?
But it all starts at Elland Road, at the fortress, Saturday against the Leeds reserve side, our “rivals” in Norwich. Our destiny isn’t in our own hands anymore, but then it rarely is. If Fulham drop points to Brentford at the same time Leeds beat Norwich it’s all to play for on the season’s last day.
