Ezgjan (Gjanni) Alisoki was named the Louis Erard Player of the Month for November today after scoring four of his five goals this season in November, scoring in each of the matches that Leeds United played in for the month. Alioski scored in the 3-1 loss at Brentford, the 2-1 win against Middlesbrough, the 4-1 loss at Wolverhampton and in the 2-0 win at Barnsley FC.
Alioski joined the Whites this past summer after playing at FC Lugano in Switzerland last year. He scored 17 goals last year for the Swiss Super League club, leading to his transfer to the Championship and Leeds United. He also has appeared for the Macedonian national team while at Leeds, playing in his national team side’s World Cup Qualifiers.
To be quite honest, while there was some competition this month, after four goals in four games, this award was pretty obviously going to Alioski. Samu Saiz could probably win the award every month because of how much better he is than any other player at the club, if not this division, but Alioski’s performance really did stand out, especially in the two wins.
Do you agree with the selection of Alioski as player of the month? Think it should have gone to someone else, like Liam Cooper or Samu Saiz or even Kemar Roofe? Let us know in the comments!
