So Leeds United went out and hired a free-kick specialist earlier this season.

The whole sequence that lead up to the Pablo Hernandez wonder-strike was bananas. From Stephen Bywater pulling down Eunan O’Kane’s shorts, to all of the crazy movement to the absolutely perfectly placed shot, it was amazing.

There was a lot of questioning when Leeds hired Gianni Vio, a lot of people weren’t convinced that it would do any good. Some thought that it would be a waste of money and would undermine Thomas Christiansen.

Well, so far the set pieces seem to be working better now, with Jansson scoring off a couple headed balls from corners and free kicks, and even those that didn’t result in goals had great looks. Now this FK routine that got under Bywater’s skin and made him lose his concentration? Brilliant.

Turns out hiring a free kick specialist was a good idea. Who knew, right?
