Leeds United Ladies are in action today against Sheffield United Ladies at Bramall Lane, home of Sheffield United’s men’s team in a Women’s FA Cup match. This game should be a challenge for the Leeds Ladies, as the Sheffield United Ladies team has an impressive record this season, and the added spice of a Yorkshire Derby should make this an entertaining match.

Sheffield United Ladies play in the FA Women’s Premier League Midlands Division 1, an equivalent division to the FA WPL Northern Division 1 that Leeds play in. Sheffield United sit in 4th place in the table on 14 points after seven matches, trailing Loughborough Foxes Women by only 5 points. Sheffield United has won four matches, drawn twice and only lost once so far this season, and own an impressive plus 19 goal difference on the season.

Sheffield United Ladies are coming off of a good 4-0 win against Leicester City Ladies in their last league match, with Midlands Division 1 leading goal scorer Natalie Shaw getting a brace. Sheffield United Ladies have four of the top 15 goal-scorers in their league, with Taria Mardsen tied for 4th with 6 goals, Millie Kenyon and Kimberly Brown both tied for 11th with four goals each.

Leeds United Ladies is coming off of a 1-3 loss to Morecambe Town, and will be looking for a good showing on the road to put another tough loss behind them. As usual, the Leeds Ladies will be lead by captain Helen Wagstaff and leading goal-scorer Matina Petrova. LULFC have two league wins on the season and will be looking to add to their win totals after losing in the League Cup against Nottingham Forest Ladies.

So if you get a chance, head on down to Bramall Lane and support the Ladies as they take on a Yorkshire rival. All Leeds Aren’t We!
