Alex moves on to another Championship side after spending nearly all his life at Leeds United.

The third of the future four at Leeds United is gone. Somebody needs to update their graphic...

Wonder how Charlie’s feeling these days...

Today we found out that Alex Mowatt is on the move, joining Barnsley on a two and a half year deal, just two games after the Tykes got a win against Leeds. Mowatt was out of contract this summer and has struggled to find legitimate game time under Garry Monk. Barnsley, who needed a replacement for Conor Hourihane after he made a move to Aston Villa, swooped in after they were alerted about his contract situation.

Alex has been a part of the Leeds family for a long time, and has many accolades to show for it. After making his debut for us in 2013 at the age of 18, Alex won the 'Young Player of the Year' award in the 2013/14 season. He went on to win the 'Fans Player of the Year' award as well as the 'Players Player of the Year' award at the conclusion of the following 2014/15 season.

I'm sad to see Mowatt go, I really felt that he still could bring something to this club. But maybe, just maybe, we can bring in a player or two this week, or get some of the loan deals we have into permanent ones. Now we can start #PayetForLeeds, right?

Alex, thanks for everything mate. Good luck. MOT
