August belonged to Marcus Antonsson

After we published our staff Player of the Month vote on Thursday, we realized we didn’t give you a chance to vote... and so we did.

And you agreed with us.

With 272 votes in our first People’s Choice poll, our readers also selected Marcus Antonsson as POTM for August 2016.

To recap again, Marcus Antonsson had two goals in six appearances in August and was the creative key to our attack. He was quick on the ball, turning for a beautiful 89th minute goal against Fleetwood and finding himself in the right spot after some beautiful play from Hadi Sacko against Wednesday. He also earned a PK in ET of the EFL Cup tie at Fleetwood and changed the offense when we came on as a sub. Without Leeds adding another striker in the window, here’s hoping he and Chris Wood stay healthy (at least through Christmas) and combine for more goals in the weeks to come.
