After waiting 24 hours for the final Round Two games of the League... uh... EFL Cup to wrap up, Leeds United fans were excited. The Cup draw always provides potential for that excitement... with away trips to Arsenal, Chelsea, and mighty Leicester possibilities, some fans want to plan their shot at today’s giants. Other fans want a League Two “cinderella” to come to Elland Road for an easier shot at advancing to Round Four.
Instead, we got Blackburn Rovers.
When you've been looking forward to the draw all day & end up with Blackburn Rovers ... https://t.co/c15OnftUDZ

That’s right, the same Championship side that will be visiting Elland Road on Tuesday 13 September will be visiting again on the week of September 19 for our third round cup tie. Absolutely no excitement there.
I’m sure the Leeds faithful will show up to both Rovers contests en masse, but the draw really leaves nothing to get excited about. The only positive: we’ll know exactly who we’re facing, with only a trip to Cardiff on the 17th separating our two matches.
So that’s that. Personally, I didn’t want to face an Arsenal or Chelsea just yet... I like to see us face as low of seeds as possible... until we reach the final. But an “Accrington Stanley” Blackburn Rovers is not. While they sit at 0-1-3 after four league matches, Blackburn will still come to play on the 20th.
The complete draw is below. We’ll update as soon as we can on exact date and time for that match. Again, the best news: we’ll know them well after 13 September. Worst news: it’s boring Rovers. Let’s win it and have an exciting Round Four draw.
DRAW: The #EFLCup Round Three draw in full.
