To be honest, it comes as a surprise for me. After a good spell at Crewe Alexandra, and a pretty decent preseason I thought that he might have a future at Elland Road, even Rosler said that Ajose impressed him in training. Besides, He still is a young lad and might show some progress.
Although I understand that Leeds have more reliable strikers in Wood and Antenucci and the manager could not promise Him as much time on the field as He would need. Then why not try to sell him? Or loan him again and then try to sell. A young lad, who was a top scorer in Crewe and was one of the players who kept them from relegation surely could earn the team some money.
But, nonetheless, let's all wish Nicky the best on his further adventures and good luck in finding a place where he can finally settle and do more of this :
