Leeds United have confirmed that Steve Morison has joined League One outfit Millwall on an initial one-year deal for an undisclosed fee.

According to the YEP, United has apparently tried for weeks to get Morison off of the Whites payroll. Morison was apparently earning something in the region of  £20,000 per week. Cutting ties with Morison is a significant financial boost for the Whites.

Morison leaves Elland road with not the best of memories. He struggled to score goals- only 5 in 41 appearances. He came to Elland road from Norwich City as part of a deal for Luciano Becchio in 2013. The whites also received £200,000 as part of that deal.

Millwall manager Neil Harris told his teams website:

"We have had to be very patient to get one of our main transfer targets over the summer.

"To get it completed before the season starts is excellent and that is a result of a lot of support from the chairman.

"Ultimately, though, it was Steve's desire to come back to Millwall which was the biggest thing of all.

"This is where he has played his best football and this is where he finds the fire in his belly to perform. He is desperate to start scoring goals for Millwall again."
