After being injured in a friendly against Eintracht has already missed the match with Hoffenheim and is nowhere near being fit for the start of the season. Luckily the injury is not related to the cruciate ligament damage from the end of last season.
When asked about the matter, Rosler said:
"He did every training session but then against Frankfurt he got an impact injury. He damaged cartilage, a similar injury to Luke Murphy. We think he’ll be out for four to six weeks."
After the rumours about Bianchi wanting to leave the Elland Road and head back home to Italy, this may be an opportunity for the boss to try some alternative settings in the midfield. Maybe it would prove to be an opportunity for one of our academy products?
