The future is bright.
The U21 team was in action today at Elland Road vs Ipswich Town. First-team members Casper Sloth, Lee Erwin and Kalvin Phillips, and Luke Murphy were all in action today.
Academy manager Adam Underwood was at the helm today as the organization looks for a new coach.
The game started off the exact way United fans were hoping for as Frank Mulher opened the scoring just two minutes into the game. Casper Sloth got credit for the assist.
We'll skip to the half-hour mark in the game, when Ipswich's Shane McLaughlin evened-up the score after receiving a nice cross from former United winger Cameron Stewart.
United put on the pressure coming out of halftime, but the effort was in vein after James Alabi made it 2-1 Ipswich, which is where we end the game.
Monty Patterson- an Ipswich substitute had to leave the field on a stretcher after he suffered a horrific injury. Play was halted for a number of minutes while medical personnel attended to Patterson. Elland Road, and the decent-sized crowd was left in shock as he left the field.
Although the U21's didn't get the victory, the future is very bright for Leeds United, and their U21's.
