Leeds United News Round-Up: Monday June 2

A quick round-up of all the latest Leeds United news from around the web.

Claudio Villa

Daily Mail - Bowyer wanted by Leeds - According to the Mail, Leeds want Blackburn boss Gary Bowyer to lead us next season. Well that was then quickly denied by the Lancashire outfit.

Yorkshire Post- Cellino looks for new boss - With Brian McDermott gone, Massimo Cellino is now looking for a new manager, I mean coach...sorry Massimo. Some of the names linked are rather odd to say the least, but one thing we do know is they must work with Cellino. Get ready for some bizarre rumours, but the quicker this is sorted the better.

Gloucester Citizen - Hockaday linked with Elland Road post - At first I thought this was a joke but it appears that Dave Hockaday is being linked with the vacant post. He's a former Forest Green boss and according to Phil Hay (Yorkshire Evening Post) is a candidate. This could get interesting.

Leeds official site - Cellino meets squad - For the majority of Monday, Sky Sports News described the meeting as an emergency (It really wasn't). We've all known for a while now that the squad was to return early, what we didn't know is what would come out of it.

Well all we do know is some of the players aren't happy and Sam Byram has a dull voice. Both our star right-back (2012-13) and Scott Wootton were on hand to give their thoughts but it appears as if Cellino told the players to keep it personal.

Fine by me, we just need unity and trust. As the club site confirms, the players will return at the end of the month before travelling to Italy for pre-season. No surprise there then, but something different.

Finally, it appears as if Gianluca Festa is the favourite for the Leeds post. Tancredi Palmeri an Italian journalist insists there is strong rumours suggesting that Cellino's right-hand man will take charge.
