Interview with an Away Fan: Rotherham United

Ahead of Friday night's clash against Rotherham United, we spoke to Deano a Rotherham United fan and contributor to www.rotherhamunited-mad.co.uk.

Jamie McDonald

17th in the league table after 11 games, are you happy with your start to the season?

Pretty satisfied to be honest, ideally we'd be a bit higher placed too as I feel our performances so far given the tough fixture list early doors deserve a few more points on the board. But i'd snap your hand off now to finish 17th come May!

You signed Leeds favourite Luciano Becchio earlier this season, have you been impressed with him?

As you might have seen this week Lucciano's done his ankle playing a behind closed doors game, sods law, so won't be able to bag the winner on Friday ;)

It's taken him a few weeks to get match sharp having not played for so long at Norwich, but he was just showing signs of what he can do. Sadly he's out for 6 weeks now but hopefully he'll stay with us when he's recovered.

Which of your players do we need to look out for and why?

A few really, although we'll try and play a pretty solid game and hit on the counter I'd think.

Kari Arnason at the back who is doing wonders with Iceland at the moment, Alex Revell up top who will work his socks off and hold the ball up.

Our main playmakers are just coming into form too, our strength is the midfield with Paul Green who you'll know well, Ben Pringle and Lee Frecklington.

Paul Taylor will probably come back into the team on Friday and is a great creator when his trickery comes off.

What system will you be playing for the game?

Always a flat back four with two up top, the midfield can rotate from a flat four and a diamond depending on the in play situation.

If you could sign any Leeds player who would it be?

To fit in our set up then Billy Sharp definitely.

What do you think our strengths and weaknesses are?

Hard one really as we've come from the lower divisions and although I keep a keen eye on all levels of football it's difficult from an outside view to answer that. You've had a similar start to us results wise and the league needs to settle down a bit more IMO.

What are your strengths and weaknesses?

Weakness, inconsistency! We're still finding our feet at this level and silly mistakes see you punished more often than not.

Our main strength is that a Steve Evans team never gives up and we'll keep going for 90 minutes.

Three to get promoted and three to go down?

Norwich

Derby

Forest

Down

Blackpool

Birmingham

Millwall

First goal scorer today?

Fancy Ben Pringle to bag as he's due a goal from a set piece.

And the result?

Millers to nick it 2-1

Once again a big thanks to Deano for answering the questions and don't forget to check out MillersMad.co.uk
