The Whites just about got through to the second round of the League Cup with an unconvincing 2-1 win at home to Chesterfield. Many would argue that the visitors were unlucky not to be the ones progressing to the next round after going into a 1-0 lead.
Brian McDermott's men, just as they did at the weekend against Brighton, showed character by coming from behind to win the game with two goals from Michael Brown and Dom Poleon.
I have provided my player ratings below but how did you rate the players performances?
Paddy Kenny - 6 - Called upon on a fair few occasions but the majority of the efforts were straight at him.
Zac Thompson - 5 - Given a chance at right back and didn't really take it. Not the best performance from the youngster.
Tom Lees - 6 - Not looking at the top of his game at the moment but hopefully that will come as the games come thick and fast.
Jason Pearce - 6 - Started the season well and kept United in front with a goal line clearance last night.
Adam Drury - 5 - Just like his fellow full-back Thompson, was given a chance but failed to make much of an impression.
Paul Green - 5 - Captain for the night and got caught in possession too many times.
David Norris - 6 - Typically energetic performance from Norris. Will be good to have around the squad.
Michael Brown - 8 - Scored a great goal and was United's best player on the night.
Dominic Poleon - 7 - Took his goal well but wasn't involved much in the second half.
Aidan White - 4 - Struggled to get to grips with Chesterfield. Once he got into a good position, his final ball was poor.
Matt Smith - 5 - Not the best full debut for the big man who missed a couple of good chances towards the end of the game.
Ross McCormack - 6 - Stepped off the bench and applied some nice touches. He is going to be a big player for Leeds this season.
Luke Murphy - 6 - Came on with McCormack. Was unlucky not to score from long range.
