Dominic Poleon has joined Yorkshire neighbours Sheffield United on loan until the end of the season.

The striker will link up with Blades boss Danny Wilson at Bramall Lane in a move that will see him gain some valuable experience.

The 19-year-old recently signed a new deal at Elland Road after showing glimpses of his potential in the first-team, reserves and while on loan at Bury.

Poleon is the currently leading scorer in the U21's with 6 goals and he also grabbed an important winner in our tie against Nottingham Forest in September.

Speaking about his move, Poleon said:

"It's another chance to get some more experience and play first team football," he said.

"Sheffield United are near the top and I want to help them kick on and push for promotion."

The loan agreement includes a 24-hour recall after the first month.

Danny Wilson, expressed his delight at the deal.

He said:

"He is young, raw and unpredictable, but he is quick and offers pace defenders won't like to defend against.

"He can offer us a lot both in terms of starting games and also as an impact substitution from the bench. We need that extra striker and if we are to be successful we need as many strikers available as possible."
