Leeds United vs Yeovil Town: Stats Preview

Andrew Dalton previews our latest Championship encounter when we take on Yeovil Town.

So back to down to earth with a huge Huddersfield bump.

Now the focus is on a game we really should be winning against Yeovil!

Not too much to tell you with Yeovil, but here goes:

This is the fourth visit from the team from Somerset in their history having won promotion from the conference in 2003, promotion to League one in 2005 and then promotion to the Championship last season.

All of our three previous home games have come in League One, and we have scored nine goals without conceding:

Season 07-08 Leeds 1-0 Yeovil De Vries
Season 08-09 Leeds 4-0 Yeovil Beckford 3, Kilkenny
Season 09-10 Leeds 4-0 Yeovil Johnson, Gradel, Beckford, Kandol.

A couple of firsts in there for you, Mark De Vries climbed off the bench, to score his first and only goal for the Whites in stoppage time in early October 2007 and on Halloween 2009, Max Gradel scored his first goal for the Whites in the 4-0 romp.

There has only been one red card in this fixture at Elland Road, albeit after the final Whistle when Tresor Kandol saw red following a fracas after full time.

There has only been one penalty awarded in the games at Elland Road, although Luciano Becchio blazed over in 2009, (thankfully we were four up!)

Not too many connections between the two clubs but United's number two Lee Peltier had a speall at Huish Park between 2007 - 09.

Finally on to the managers, this is the first time both managers have faced the opposition. Brian McDermott has never faced Yeovil as a manager and Gary Johnson has never faced Leeds as a manager!

Theres a stat to finish on :)

Cheers
