An extended version of Stephen's preview of the game for the YEP

The international break has seen a lot of Leeds United supporters indulge in a wave of pessimism on the back of a disappointing defeat to Derby County.

The visit of Birmingham City to Elland Road on Sunday should give Leeds a great chance to get that defeat out of their system and put on a show for the cameras against a struggling Birmingham City side.

Hopefully there has been plenty of work done on the training ground to shore up the defence and find a cutting edge up front. Leeds have been able to enjoy long periods of possession in recent weeks but with no end product it's all a little bit pointless.

I would love to see Dom Poleon given an opportunity to provide the pace we need in the forward areas with Rodolph Austin back in the holding role to afford the defence a little extra protection.

No matter what the result the fans should get behind Brian McDermott who is doing the best he can with a limited squad and little cash with which to improve matters. Although form doesn't offer much hope I'm going for a home win
