Leeds United January Transfer Window: Tuesday January 29th

With just two days to go Leeds fans are getting a little nervous about the prospect of no more signings at Elland Road. We've been here before but can we sign anyone in the next 48 hours? Today has been busy but it's two players on the way out that have caught the headlines.

Aside from all the negativity of the current transfer window - there has been some improvements in terms of those departing the club.

Today was no different.

United have released Ramon Nunez from after he agreed to mutually terminate his deal. The 27-year-old is now free to find another club after making 25 appearances for the club since 2010.

The little winger managed to notch five goals for the club but never really seemed to understand the English game. His lack of strength put him on the back foot from the start and his inability to stick to a position for the team was always going to cost him his place.

The Honduras international was placed on the transfer list by Neil Warnock in the summer but picked up a knee injury in a squad development game against Wigan.

Also leaving - well extending his loan until the end of the season is Patrick Kisnorbo.

The big centre-back joined the Tractor Boys at the start of the month for an original one month loan. Kisnorbo made his debut against Villa in the cup but has yet to feature for them in the league - but has been on the bench for all their Championship fixtures so far.

As I and so many others have said in the past, we wish Paddy all the best in the future. His commitment and efforts in our League One campaign will not be forgotten. His injuries have caught up with him and we need to move on now, hopefully he gets plenty of games and finds his form once again.

And finally a deal rumoured to be near to completion after Sam Allardyce's comments in the press earlier today. Stephen Warnock the forgotten left-back at Aston Villa has been linked with the club for a number of weeks but today's comments seem to have given the rumour a new lease of life.

The 31-year-old was expected to be joining West Ham on a free but it seems Leeds have offered him a longer deal in the Championship.

Allardyce said:

"Stephen we thought was a go-er, but another club in the Championship made him a more long-term offer which I think he has accepted, so I think he has decided to take that so that."
