Leeds United have today confirmed the signing of young striker Patrick Antelmi following a successful trial with the club.
The Australian has been on trial with the club throughout the summer, and scored in Leeds' under-21 win over Wigan this month. The 18-year-old has signed a one-year-deal with the option of a further year.
Antelmi had been with Portsmouth as a youngster and follows David Norris, Luke Varney, Jason Pearce, and Jamie Ashdown with the move from the South Coast.
With many fans focusing on the possible takeover, Antelmi surprised those on Twitter by tweeting that he had signed for the club. The tweet read:
Done and dusted, officially signed for Leeds United. Looking very much forward to what's to come! #LUFC #lufc #MOT #buzzing

We'd like to welcome Patrick to the club and hope he can become a success in the first team in years to come.
