Today's game against Blackburn Rovers promises to be close and if I was having a bet full of goals.
Blackburn have been up and down so far this season but have some firepower, especially with the recent signing of Jordan Rhodes from Huddersfield for a ridiculous sum of £8million.
Manager Neil Warnock will be looking for a solid performance in his second league game at home, while Steve Kean will be hoping to finally get the fans on board (if possible) with an impressive away win.
As always we start with what Warnock said, followed by Luke Varney and good old Steve Kean.
Warnock:
"We said when the fixtures came out they were two difficult home matches to start with. But we beat Wolves here and I believe we can give teams a good run for their money.
"Blackburn are one of the favourites and quite rightly when you look at what they've done over the summer and who they've brought in. They've got another good acquistion in Jordan Rhodes this week and they have a good squad.
"But we're at Elland Road and that lifts the players. We'll have another fantastic crowd in and the supporters have really got on board with what we're trying to do."
Varney:
"They'll bring a few big names, but that doesn't bother us, we'll enjoy playing against them and it'll raise our game. The gaffer has made us aware that what you need in this league is togetherness and we have a good bit of quality with the likes of Luciano, Ross, and Dioufy, and if we work hard our quality shines through.
"It did against Wolves and I'm sure it will against Blackburn. You want to go into the international break with a win. It leave you on a high because you come back after a good rest.
"We're really focused on a good performance on Saturday and we're looking forward to it. It'll be a massive game for us."
Kean:
"It is a big contest between two big clubs. When you look at the stature of both clubs then I fully expect both of us to be up there at the end of the season. The bookmakers certainly think so and they don't often get it wrong.
"It'll be a great game and a game where we can go into it full of confidence after our solid start to the season. We are looking forward to this game.
"It'll be a proper atmosphere against a club that I think will be very strong at home this season. They'll be a tough nut to crack."
