Lee Peltier Set to Finalise Move To Leeds United

The Yorkshire Evening Post is this morning reporting Leeds United have agreed a fee with Leicester City for right-back Lee Peltier.

The long awaited move is set to finally be completed once Peltier agrees a severance package with the Foxes.

Warnock turned to Peltier after his move for Joel Ward failed to come to fruition, a deal which nearly made Warnock walk out on the club. Former manager Simon Grayson was interested in bringing Peltier back to Huddersfield Town, until the asking price from the Foxes became too much and the Terriers pulled out of the deal.

Peltier has only been at Leicester for 12 months after signing a three-year-deal for £750,000 from Huddersfield. Foxes boss Nigel Pearson is willing to let Peltier go despite the defender starting 39 Championship games last season.

The acquisition of Peltier will almost certainly complete Warnock's defence for the forthcoming season. Although I personally feel that Tom Lees isn't ready and should be used within the squad, at least we will have a solid enough back four ready for the new season. Peltier is solid, has enough pace for this division and is a country mile better than Paul Connolly.

Another deal down hopefully, but more are needed.
