Neil Warnock firmly believes that new captain Lee Peltier has the attributes to be the captain of a great club after giving the defender the armband for the season on Saturday.
The manager surprised a few people by choosing Peltier, with many expecting Jason Pearce, David Norris or Ross McCormack to take the captain's role.
Peltier recently completed his move to Elland Road from Leicester City for an undisclosed fee, and Warnock is adamant that the right-back is the man for the job.
Speaking to the official site, Warnock said:
"I actually decided last week. I watched him cajole and talk to the players and organise them, and in training I've watched him.
"It was a gut feeling and it's a feeling you get. He's a nice lad off the field and on the field he's respected by the players and I'm delighted that he's captain of such a great club."
