Ross McCormack has today delighted Leeds United fans everywhere by putting pen to paper on a new three year contract with the Elland Road club.
Speculation over the Scotland International's future has lasted all summer long but now McCormack has done exactly what he suggested he was going to do following his goal celebration against Shrewsbury and he has now committed his future to the club.
Speaking to the club's official website, McCormack said:
"This was always what I wanted to do. It's perfect timing with the first game of the season being on Saturday, and I was always hopeful that we could get things sorted in time.
It's my birthday as well on Saturday, hopefully we can get three points, and it's all perfect.
We've got a good squad of players here," said the striker. "There may be a couple more come in, but we've got a good team and we're looking to do well.
We've had a good pre-season and hopefully we can kick on now. We're looking solid at the back as well which is good."
It is great news and a massive boost for everybody at the club just before the new season kicks off tomorrow.
Neil Warnock said:
"It's been hard work, but I'm really pleased. Ross had made it clear that he wanted to be with us, and Shaun Harvey has worked extremely hard to get it done.
Both parties are very happy. Ross has been enjoying his football and he can concentrate on his season now, particularly after scoring his goal for Scotland in midweek."
Congratulations on the new deal Ross and here is to another goal filled season!
