Warnock on Takeover

The longest-takeover saga in history is still to be completed at Leeds United and manager Neil Warnock has said that the on-going cloud over the club will not be used as an excuse should the Whites under-perform this season.

Early talks about investment at the club began in May, with an update in June, until last week's apparent collapse broke by the Supporters Trust.

Once again Leeds fans and the media find themselves none the wiser with the current situation at the club unknown. Some are suggesting the deal is done, others suggest there's no chance.

We will just have to see.

Warnock spoke to the press at his first conference ahead of the new season:

"We've got 10 new players, I know what people would like me to say, but I've got 10.

"I'd like another couple of quality players, especially after losing Snodgrass, and I have to work at getting whatever I can in by whatever means. But rest assured whoever we play against will know about they've been in a game.

"That's what I try and do and nothing's changed, whatever the financial situation is or whoever owns the club.

"I accept anything that's happening at the moment. I'm hardened to it all. I imagine we'll be having this conversation around Christmas time about the takeover and then probably March and by the end of the season it might be sorted."
